In 1998, Stephen King hired the #1 Catering Company, where I worked as Human Resource Director, to scare the audience. It was his first book signing after writing many books. I rented a Bride of Death gown, used my make-up skills to make me look haunted. As I practiced running down a private hall using a witch's cackle, "Stephen King-a, this is Ing-a, I've come to get you and take you with me for eternity." Out of nowhere, I saw 5 people walk across at the end of the corridor. When I got there, I stopped in the bathroom. Police came to arrest me. King called them. I took the police to the kitchen, where the chef identified me. I got to scare the audience, and the police lifted the ban where I had to keep 75' away from him. Afterward, I went to the table to buy his book. Both he and his agent came and shook my hand. He was scared, but I relieved his fear. It's why he never had a book signing before.
Without knowing, I broke the spell.
